Iowa Area Development Group
Chariton Valley Electric Cooperative (CVEC) is actively involved in economic development efforts within the surrounding area. We have a strong partnership with the Iowa Area Development Group (IADG), an organization developed in 1985 to serve businesses interested in expanding or locating within the municipal and member-owned electric service areas of Iowa.

 Kids Safety Demonstrations
It is important to Chariton Valley Electric Cooperative to help kids learn how dangerous electricity can be if it is not
respected. Our program helps kids understand why it's important to take precautions around electricity. Presenters and kids have
fun interacting and exchanging questions and answers.

Hey, Kids! Visit the Touchstone Energy Kids Zone — your own place to learn about electricity,
energy savings, and
electrical safety.
Youth Tour
Chariton Valley Electric Cooperative sends high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors to participate in the Rural Electric Youth Tour to Washington, D.C., in June
of each year, for an activity-filled week. This trip provides high school youth with opportunities to learn first-hand what it
